Frequently Asked Questions About Hangzhou Tours

West Lake is famous and popular among Chinese people because of the romantic love story between Bai Suzhen (a snake spirit) and Xu Xi'an (a doctor) at West Lake.
Silk, Longjing tea, and lotus root starch are good choice as souvenirs when in Hangzhou.
There are authentic Hangzhou cuisines at Hefang Street (河坊街), Zhongshan South Road Food Street (中山南路美食街), Baoshu Road Food Street (保俶路美食街) and Gaoyin Lane (高银街) in Hangzhou.
A stroll around the West Lake to enjoy the night view, a night cruise on the Grand Canal, the night Show - Enduring Memories of Hangzhou, a visit to the night market, fun time at bars or teahouses could be good choices to enrich your night life in Hangzhou.
If you have tight schedule, one day is quite enough for Hangzhou highlights, like West Lake, Lingyin Temple, Peak Flown From Afar and Dragon Well Tea Village. If you have 2 to 3 days, the nearby water towns also worth a visit.
The two water towns each have its own characteristics and flavors. Many local people still live here. You can find more rich folk customs and historical connotation here at Wuzhen Water Town. Besides, the night scene here is quite amazing. Regarding Nanxun Water Town, it is the only ancient town with a combination of Chinese and Western styles. The rich people in Nanxun have been the majority since ancient times, so the major scenic spots here are private homes and gardens of the rich people.
Bullet train is considered the most convenient, cost-effective and fastest way between Hangzhou and Shanghai, only taking an hour.
Hangzhou is suitable for travel all year round due to the relatively pleasant weather, but spring and autumn are popular seasons among visitors as the scenery along the West Lake is quite beautiful. The weather in autumn is very cool and pleasant.
Visitors could easily reach Shanghai (famous for the Bund and Pearl TV Tower), Suzhou (famous for water towns and classic manmade gardens) and Huangshan (famous for heritage villages and Yellow Mountain) by bullet train.
Generally speaking, 2 days are quite enough for Hangzhou highlights, which cover West Lake, Lingyin Temple, Longjing Tea Plantation, Hefang Street and Wuzhen or Nanxun Water Town. If you have more time to travel, you may take some day trips to Shanghai or Suzhou.
