Let’s start with Folded Brocade Hill, which is considered to be a good place for a bird-eye view of Guilin city and Li River. Come down from the hill and go ahead to explore a mysterious cave, Reed Flute Cave. It is warm in winter and cool in summer and fun to see the amazing array of limestone formations highlighted in neon lights.

After lunch, drive to the outskirt of Guilin to visit Daxu Ancient Town, an ancient fishing village, where you can enjoy its antique and remaining prosperous charm from its old folk houses, stone bridge from Ming era, flagstone streets, simple local life style. There you will also knock a local’s door to appreciate this ‘antique collections’ and listen to the stories of their ancestors.

• Wear antiskid shoe when climbing the hill and visit the cave as the ground can be slippery in the cave.

Daxu Ancient Town

Get up earlier to catch the 4-hour Li River cruise by big boat from Guilin to Yangshuo, starting from Millstone Hill Wharf (Mopanshan Wharf). The eye-feasting landscape and country scenery along the river won’t let you down. The appreciation of the peaks along the river calls for much of your imagination. You may have different opinions from others regarding what the peaks are like. The destination of the cruise is Yangshuo.

After disembark, the guide will show you around the West Street, where you could find many local restaurants, bars and souvenir shops etc. Here you will also take a calligraphy lesson to feel the charm of Chinese culture.

Li River cruise

In the morning, you will visit the local market to get to know the local life and some basic ingredients to cook Chinese dishes. After that, you will learn the secrets of authentic Chinese cuisine in Yangshuo from skilled teachers and take away awesome recipes to share with friends and family back home. The participation of the kids will add some more fun to the cooking class. After the lesson, you will enjoy your work for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will take a relaxing biking tour in Yangshuo countryside. You will pedal past some of the most breath-taking scenery you’ll ever see, like the large paddy field, the water buffalo, the ancient villages and farmers working in the field. Do not forget to stop from time to time to grasp some nice pictures.
