Sichuan Hiking Itineraries
7-day itinerary for a hiking tour in Sichuan
Day 1: Arrival in Chengdu, Upon arrival in Chengdu, check in to your hotel and spend the day exploring the city. You can visit the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding to see China's beloved pandas up close, or explore the historic Wenshu Monastery and its surrounding area.
Day 2: Chengdu to Siguniangshan National Park, In the morning, drive from Chengdu to Siguniangshan National Park, which is known for its stunning mountain scenery and trekking opportunities. After arriving in the park, visit the Shuangqiao Valley Scenic Area and hike to the Changping Valley, which features gorgeous alpine landscapes.
Day 3: Trekking in Siguniangshan National Park, Spend the day trekking through the stunning valleys of Siguniangshan National Park, taking in the views of snow-capped peaks, glacial lakes, and lush forests. The trekking route can be tailored based on your preferences and fitness level.
Day 4: Rilong Town to Mount Four Sisters, In the morning, drive to Rilong Town, which is the starting point for the trek to Mount Four Sisters. The trek is challenging but rewarding, with breathtaking views of the Four Sisters mountain range and the surrounding landscapes.
Day 5: Mount Emei, Drive from Siguniangshan National Park to Mount Emei, one of China's Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains. Hike to the Golden Summit of Mount Emei, which offers spectacular views of the surrounding valleys and mountains.
Day 6: Leshan Giant Buddha, In the morning, visit the Leshan Giant Buddha, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the largest Buddha statues in the world. Afterward, drive back to Chengdu and spend the afternoon exploring the city's vibrant food and shopping scenes.
Day 7: Departure, Check out of your hotel and depart from Chengdu.

Siguniangshan, also known as Four Sisters Mountain, is a beautiful mountain range located in the Sichuan Province of China. It is a popular destination for hiking and trekking enthusiasts due to its stunning scenery and challenging trails. Here is a sample itinerary for a Siguniangshan mountain hiking tour:
Day 1: Arrival in Chengdu, Upon arrival in Chengdu, you will be met by your guide who will transfer you to your hotel in the city. You can spend the rest of the day exploring the city and its attractions, such as the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.
Day 2: Chengdu - Rilong, After breakfast, you will embark on a scenic drive to Rilong, a small town located at the foot of the Siguniangshan mountain range. Along the way, you will pass through beautiful countryside scenery and small villages. In Rilong, you will check into your hotel and have some free time to relax and explore the town.
Day 3: Rilong - Changping Valley, Today, you will start your hiking adventure by heading to the Changping Valley. The hike will take you through a beautiful forest of pine and spruce trees, and you will pass by several waterfalls and streams. You will also have a chance to see local Tibetan villages along the way. The total hiking time is about 6-7 hours, and you will spend the night in a guesthouse in the valley.
Day 4: Changping Valley - Bipeng Valley, After breakfast, you will continue your hike to the Bipeng Valley. The trail will take you through several high mountain passes, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. You will also have a chance to see local wildlife, such as the Sichuan takin and golden monkeys. The total hiking time is about 7-8 hours, and you will spend the night in a guesthouse in the valley.
Day 5: Bipeng Valley - Haizi Valley, Today, you will hike to the Haizi Valley, which is located at the base of the Siguniangshan peaks. Along the way, you will pass by several alpine lakes and meadows, and you will have a chance to see some of the highest peaks in the range, including the Four Sisters. The total hiking time is about 6-7 hours, and you will spend the night in a guesthouse in the valley.
Day 6: Haizi Valley - Rilong, After breakfast, you will begin your descent back to Rilong. The trail will take you through some of the most scenic parts of the mountains, and you will have a chance to take in the stunning views one last time. The total hiking time is about 6-7 hours, and you will spend the night in your hotel in Rilong.
Day 7: Rilong - Chengdu, Today, you will be driven back to Chengdu, where you can spend the rest of the day exploring the city or shopping for souvenirs. In the evening, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight.
