7-day itinerary for Lhasa and Mount Everest

Day 1: Arrival in Lhasa, Check into your hotel and acclimatize to the high altitude, Visit Potala Palace, the former residence of the Dalai Lamas.

Day 2: Lhasa City Tour, Visit Jokhang Temple, the holiest temple in Tibet, Explore the Barkhor, a bustling market and pilgrimage circuit, Visit Sera Monastery, a major center of Buddhist learning.

Day 3: Lhasa - Gyantse, Drive to Gyantse and visit the Pelkor Chode Monastery, a complex of temples and stupas, Visit the Gyantse Dzong, a fortress overlooking the city.

Day 4: Gyantse - Shigatse, Drive to Shigatse and visit Tashilhunpo Monastery, the seat of the Panchen Lamas, Explore the local market.

Day 5: Shigatse - Rongphu Monastery, Drive to Rongphu Monastery, the highest monastery in the world, Take in the stunning views of Mount Everest.

Day 6: Rongphu Monastery - Lhatse, Drive to Lhatse and visit Lhatse Dzong, a fortress and former palace, Explore the local market.

Day 7: Lhatse - Lhasa, Drive back to Lhasa and spend the day relaxing or exploring any sites you missed earlier, Prepare for your departure.

7-day itinerary for Lhasa and Shannan

Day 1: Arrival in Lhasa, Arrive in Lhasa and acclimatize to the altitude (3,656m),Take it easy and relax for the rest of the day.

Day 2: Lhasa City Tour, Visit Potala Palace, the iconic landmark of Lhasa and the former winter palace of the Dalai Lama, Explore Jokhang Temple, one of the most important temples in Tibet, and Barkhor Street, a vibrant market area around the temple.

Day 3: Lhasa City Tour, Visit Drepung Monastery, one of the largest monasteries in Tibet, and Sera Monastery, known for its daily monk debates, Explore the Norbulingka Palace, the former summer palace of the Dalai Lama.

Day 4: Lhasa to Tsedang, Drive from Lhasa to Tsedang, the capital of Shannan (about 150km), Visit the Yumbulagang Palace, the oldest palace in Tibet, and the Samye Monastery, one of the most important monasteries in Tibet.

Day 5: Tsedang, Visit the Trandruk Monastery, a famous monastery that was once the residence of the Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo, Explore the Chim-puk Hermitage, a famous meditation site where Guru Rinpoche is believed to have meditated.

Day 6: Tsedang to Yarlung Valley, Drive to the Yarlung Valley, the cradle of Tibetan civilization and the birthplace of the Tibetan Kings, Visit the Tandruk Monastery and the Yumbulakhang Palace.

Day 7: Departure from Lhasa, Drive back to Lhasa and depart from Tibet

7-day itinerary for Lhasa and Nagqu in Tibet:

Day 1: Arrival in Lhasa, Arrive in Lhasa and rest to acclimatize to the high altitude. Visit the Barkhor Street, Jokhang Temple, and Potala Palace.

Day 2: Lhasa City Tour, Visit the Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery, and Norbulingka Palace.

Day 3: Lhasa to Damxung, Drive to Damxung town, a small town located between Lhasa and Nagqu. On the way, visit the Namtso Lake, one of the most beautiful lakes in Tibet.

Day 4: Damxung to Nagqu, Drive to Nagqu, the largest town in northern Tibet. On the way, visit the Yangpachen Hot Springs and the Lagenla Mountain Pass.

Day 5: Nagqu City Tour, Visit the Nagqu Grassland, the most beautiful grassland in Tibet. Visit the Nagqu Museum, which exhibits the history and culture of Nagqu.

Day 6: Nagqu to Lhasa, Drive back to Lhasa. On the way, visit the Yamdrok Lake and Karola Glacier.

Day 7: Departure from Lhasa, Depart from Lhasa to your next destination.

Day 4: Nyingchi, Explore the Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon, one of the deepest canyons in the world, Visit the ancient Nyingchi King's Palace, a well-preserved castle built over 300 years ago, Take a leisurely stroll along the Nyang River

Day 5: Nyingchi, Visit the Lamaling Temple, a Tibetan Buddhist temple built on a hillside with stunning views of the surrounding area, Explore the Lulang Forest, a primeval forest with tall trees and clean air, Visit the Peach Blossom Valley, a beautiful valley filled with peach blossoms in the springtime

Day 6: Nyingchi to Lhasa, Drive back to Lhasa and take in the views one last time, Visit the Sera Monastery, known for its lively debating sessions among the monks, Explore the Tibet Museum to learn about the rich history and culture of Tibet

Day 7: Departure, Depart from Lhasa and return home or continue your travels in Tibet
