We really enjoyed the Great Wall location we went too. The wall was of course magnificent but the square below the wall was very nice and allowed us to relax a bit and just stroll around and enjoy it all. The rail car and the toboggan down were a nice surprise and super fun for the kids who were wiped out by the time we finished our trek on the wall.

Annie was the best guide by far. She gave us information but not too much info. She was very patient with my little one and allowed us to change our itinerary as we needed to in order to accommodate our kids.

The Wyndham Grand Xian South Hotel was extremely nice. The Beijing hotel was nice but the only Western style food they had was the very expensive steak house, we would have liked it better had we had more food options. Also the staff at Xian was more accommodating and very friendly.

For the fast train, I would recommend only taking it one way. The return trip to Beijing was riddled with stops and I didn’t realize how long it would take coming back – wish I would have seen that before I asked you to change as I would have chosen to fly. I would recommend pointing out the large time differences in trips when they occur.

For the suggestions for future travelers, if taking your kids be sure to bring a stroller if they are under 5. They get so tired and it was hugely helpful for us.

Great Wall day was a Wow day for sure!
