10 Days Guangdong Itinerary for Family with Kids

Day 1: Guangzhou-Arrival

Arrival in Guangzhou, start your trip with a relaxing visit to Yuexiu Park, it features beautiful gardens, lakes, and the Five Rams Statue, a symbol of the city. Visit the Canton Tower.

Day 2: Guangzhou-Culture and History

In the morning, Explore Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, is a cultural landmark, showcasing traditional Cantonese architecture and folk art. Enjoy a traditional Cantonese dim sum lunch at a local restaurant. Visit Guangzhou Museum, take a relaxing night cruise on the Pearl River.

Day 3: Guangzhou – Adventure

Visit Chimelong Safari Park, one of the largest wildlife parks in China. Kids will love seeing exotic animals like pandas, tigers, and giraffes up close. The park offers interactive experiences and animal shows.

Day 4: Guangzhou

Spend the entire day at Chimelong Paradise, a large amusement park with thrilling rides, roller coasters, and live shows suitable for all ages. The park is full of exciting attractions, making it a fantastic family adventure.

Day 5: Guangzhou

Explore the Cantonese Opera Museum, which introduces the rich history of Cantonese opera through interactive exhibits. Take a family walk around Shamian Island, known for its colonial-era buildings and peaceful atmosphere.

Visit Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street, is a bustling shopping street for a mix of street food, local snacks, and souvenirs. It's a great place to let the kids explore and sample local treats.

Day 6: Shenzhen

Visit Shenzhen Happy Valley, one of the largest amusement parks in the city. The park is divided into several themed areas, including a western cowboy zone, a pirate-themed area, and a water-themed zone.

Day 7: Shenzhen

Visit Splendid China Folk Village, which features miniature replicas of China’s most iconic landmarks like the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, and the Terracotta Warriors, and Folk Culture Village, which offers a deep dive into China’s 56 ethnic groups, their traditional costumes, music, and dances. You can have a chance to see how various minority groups live, work, and celebrate their festivals.

Head to Dameisha Beach, relax by the beach and enjoy the sea breeze.

Day 8: Visit Zhuhai's Ocean Theme Park and Relax

Take a day trip to Chimelong Ocean Kingdom, Kids will love seeing dolphins, whales, and even polar bears. Don’t miss the world’s largest aquarium and the penguin and sea lion show. Visit Seaside Park, have a view of the iconic sculpture of the graceful fishing girl holding a pearl in both hands.

Day 9: Explore Zhuhai and Relaxation

In the morning, Visit Tangjiabay Ancient Town, (it typically takes around 20 to 30 minutes by car to reach the town.) is known for its traditional architecture and old-style streets, providing a glimpse of Zhuhai’s cultural and historical heritage.

Admire the Hong kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, which is not only a vital transport route but also an architecture wonder that showcases China's advanced engineering capabilities.

Day 10: Cultural and Historical Experience in Jiangmen

Head to Kaiping to visit the famous Diaolou, traditional fortified multi-story towers built by overseas Chinese immigrants. The Kaiping Diaolou and Villages are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a great place to explore Hakka architecture. After visiting the Diaolou, head to Chikan Ancient Town. The town is known for its old buildings and historic charm.

Ending your tip and depart with wonderful memories.

Tips:

  • It is forbidden to bring food and drinks into Chimelong Scenic Area
  • The park is quite large, so be sure to protect yourself from the sun and wear comfortable shoes (flip-flops are not allowed for certain rides and attractions).
  • Pay attention to show times to ensure you don’t miss any of the exciting performances.

Visit the Nanfeng Ancient Kiln, a historical pottery kiln that dates back to the Song Dynasty. The kiln is still active today, producing traditional Foshan ceramics. You can also try your hand at pottery-making in a nearby workshop.

Day 6: Foshan

Head to Xiqiao Mountain for some relaxation and enjoy a scenic sunset. Xiqiao Mountain is one of the famous places in Foshan for hiking and offers panoramic views of the city.

Day 7: Foshan-Qingyuan

Arrive Qingyuan, explore the Baojing Palace, is the largest limestone karst cave in the region, covering a total area of 12 square kilometers. enjoy a peaceful evening at Qingyuan Hot Springs.

Day 8: Qingyuan

Explore Oujia Terraces, a picturesque farming area known for its beautiful terraced fields. It's a fantastic spot for photography and enjoying the tranquility of rural China.

Day 9: Qingyuan

Visit Seven Star Crags, is the most famous scenic spot in Zhaoqing. Take a boat tour to get a closer look at the limestone peaks, caves, and islands in the lake.

Visit the Longmu Temple, a well-known ancient temple dedicated to the Dragon Mother, a deity worshiped in southern Chian.

Day 10: Zhaoqing
